Just so you know...all credits go to Krazed for the first technique:

Technique One: Say you are giving away items (good ones...) or money and to follow you if they want it. If there is only one person, then try and get a friend in on it or something...or just try to get more ppl. Then go to some remote place where no one will see you scamming. Now think up a few contests like dancing, best joke, highest skill lvl and stuff like that. Do about 2 or 3 of those and then say trade me your worst item and i will give it back. Now give it back. Now do the same with their second best item. Now give it back to them. Now do the same thing again with their best item. When they trade it to you, you have to quickly have to log out and wait a bit or go on some other acc that you made. If you have a friend in on it, then make sure they play along good. If they see you and don't chase after you, then the other person/ppl might guess that your friend is in on it. Make sure to add your scammees to your ignore list...even after a long time...they might still want their items back.

Technique Two: Now the credits are to me...MUAHAHAHAHA...lolz. First you have to see someone who is using method one...or any slight variations of it. Make sure you know that they are scamming and not having a quitting drop party or something. Now when they are busy trading other ppl or when there are alot of ppl near you, you have to say something like "HEY!!! YOU STOLE MY RUNE SCIMMY!!! GIVE IT BACK!!!" or something...and then they will give you items just to shut you up...and with it you probably won't get banned, but the other person might...MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
They only time i tried this was when i was following a guy who was stupid....but...it will still work with most ppl...and i got 12 water runes and a golden necklace for free.

BTW: I SUCK AT SCAMMING! lolz...even though it's hard to suck at scamming...it's very simple...

This thing died when all the noobs started to do it when they couldn't... it was funny and pathetic at the same time. They where like "giving free 10k, follow me, we will do a trust scam" and stuff like that. VERY noobish..
Than the pros came in with there 1mill and stuff and scammed people.

But since the noobs got scammed, the noobs scammed noober noobs, who than TRIED to scam auto woodcutters at the yew trees... Thus the word spreads!

From scamming in RS I made about 1 mil. It was hilarious! I scammed about 5 Rune 2Hs!!!!
